Maladaptive behavior among adolescents—such as delinquency, gadget addiction, and noncompliance with school rules—has become a serious challenge in the field of education and counseling. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of reality therapy developed by William Glasser in addressing maladaptive behavior among adolescents. The research employed a qualitative approach with a case study design involving five junior high school students in Indramayu Regency who exhibited symptoms of maladaptive behavior. Data collection techniques included in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal that reality therapy, which emphasizes choice, personal responsibility, and concrete action planning, effectively encourages adolescents to recognize their behavior and choose more responsible actions. After six counseling sessions, there was a significant decrease in the frequency of negative behaviors, along with an increase in self-awareness and compliance with school rules. This approach proved effective because it is practical, present-focused, and involves active student participation in problem-solving processes. The findings indicate that reality therapy can serve as a relevant alternative intervention strategy in modern educational contexts.
