Publication Ethics

Communica: Journal of Islamic Media and Communication is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).
This license allows anyone to copy, distribute, remix, transmit, and adapt the original work, provided that the original work and its source are properly cited.

There are two key implications of this policy:

  1. Author Copyright and Usage Rights
    Authors retain the copyright of their articles under the CC BY license and allow others to use the content of Communica: Journal of Islamic Media and Communication, either in whole or in part, as long as the original work is properly cited. Users must provide appropriate credit to the original source, including the author’s name, the journal as the original publication source, year of publication, volume, issue number, and DOI.

  2. First Publication Rights
    Authors grant the journal the right of first publication while retaining copyright over their articles.

This journal also guarantees that personal information, such as names and email addresses submitted to the website, will be used exclusively for the purposes stated by the journal and will not be made available for any other purpose or to any other party.

Communica: Journal of Islamic Media and Communication upholds the highest standards of academic integrity and originality. Therefore, every manuscript submitted to the editorial team must be the author’s original work and free from any form of plagiarism.
Manuscripts with a similarity index greater than 25% (including self-plagiarism) will be automatically rejected or returned to the author for revision.
