Women’s Empowerment in Islamic and Social Perspectives
Abstract
The family is the smallest social unit that plays a vital role in shaping the personality and morality of its members. In Islam, women hold a strategic position as the primary educators, household managers, and guardians of the family’s spiritual values. This article aims to analyze the role of women in strengthening the resilience of Muslim families from both religious and social perspectives. The method used is qualitative-descriptive with a literature study approach. The findings indicate that women have a dual role in maintaining family stability — as ummun wa rabbatul bait (mother and household manager) and as partners to their husbands in building family welfare and harmony. The resilience of Muslim families can be realized when women receive sufficient spiritual, educational, and social support to perform their roles optimally.
